Dr. Yim Hyung-woo is the representative director of Forever Plastic Surgery Gangnam and a plastic surgery specialist. His focus is the face: facelift, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty and facial contouring.

As first author he has written on volume augmentation of the lower eyelid and cheek, and on how expectations of Asian eyelid appearance have changed, both in Seminars in Plastic Surgery, as well as a preliminary study of facial contouring with custom silicone implants designed from a 3-D prototype model and CT scan, in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Conference presentations
He has presented on the derotational septo-columellar wedge graft for the nose, intraoral malarplasty combined with endoscopic forehead and midface lifting, dual-plane intraoral fat grafting for midface rejuvenation, and 3D-printed custom silicone implants for facial surgery.

Surgery only where it is the better answer
Laxity is checked by hand before anything is recommended. A facelift is proposed when descent has gone past what ultrasound or radiofrequency lifting can reposition; short of that point, the plan stays non-surgical. In the dual-plane technique used here, skin and SMAS are moved along separate vectors instead of the skin alone being pulled tighter.
